Bringing Sharing to Reels on Instagram to More Developers

Last year, we started testing Sharing to Reels on Instagram – a seamless way for people to share video directly to Instagram Reels from some of their favorite apps, including Videoleap, Reface, Smule, VivaVideo, SNOW, B612, VITA, and Zoomerang.

Today, we are expanding access to our limited beta test, inviting more developers to integrate with us over the course of this year. Creators use a variety of apps to create and edit videos before uploading them to Instagram Reels, and we’re excited to add mobile apps that creators know and love to make that experience faster and easier. As we test and gather feedback, we’ll continue to expand access to more developers around the world.

Reels is our fastest growing content format, and this simplified sharing experience allows users to share their creative content directly to Instagram Reels, where they can reach a wider audience. Developers tell us that integrating with Sharing to Reels, on Instagram and Facebook, has helped them build awareness of their app’s unique features and tools.

We do not currently have information to share about general availability timing for this integration; however, we encourage you to enable direct sharing to Facebook Reels, which is available for any business with a registered Facebook App to use.
