We’re at LeWeb in Paris this week to connect with the global developer community about the latest with Open Graph and mobile platform. As the number of European developers building on Facebook increases, Paris has become one of the top places for timeline app development, as the number two city, after San Francisco, for Open Graph submissions.
There are now over 350 apps on Facebook.com with more than 1 million monthly active users each. On the mobile front, nearly 200,000 iPhone and Android apps are integrated with Facebook, including 9 of the top 10 grossing iPhone apps. Additionally, more than 45% of the top 400 grossing iOS apps use the Facebook SDK.
With the introduction of Open Graph last year at f8 and Facebook Platform now available from all devices, Facebook has become the social building block for some of the biggest mobile and web apps across a variety of categories, such as Deezer, Endomondo, Shazam, Pinterest, Kobo, TripAdvisor, Fab.com, Gogobot, and Foodspotting.
Several European based start-ups joined us at LeWeb and shared their success with the international tech community:
We have also heard from developers building a new wave of “mobile-first” start-ups, and driving discovery and installs through Open Graph and mobile app install ads:
If you’re not a Le Web in person this year, you can catch a livestream here.
We will continue to work with developers of all sizes, and around the world, to help people tell rich stories through social apps, while making it easier for people to discover new apps and content through friends.
