This section will help you get started with your very first (demo) Flow.

Are you already set up via the WhatsApp Business Platform?

If you're already a WhatsApp Enterprise Business using the WhatsApp API to send messages, you should dive right into Creating Your First Flow.

Before you can use WhatsApp Flows

In order to use WhatsApp Flows, you'll first need to set up the WhatsApp Business Platform. This will give you access to the WhatsApp Manager as part of your WhatsApp Business Account.

Before you get started with Flows, you will need to verify your business, complete the display name review process and maintain a high message quality.

Keep in mind that if you already use the WhatsApp API, you may have completed some of these steps already and can skip to the next one.

1. Set up the WhatsApp Business Platform Cloud API

If you're new to the WhatsApp API, you'll need to get set up first. The WhatsApp Cloud API is easy and simple to use, so it's recommended you start with that.

Alternative: Use the WhatsApp Business On-Premises API client

If you'd rather use the On-Premises API client for your use-case, that's perfectly fine and will work with WhatsApp Flows. Start by exploring the Get Started article for WhatsApp On-Premises API.

Note: The minimum version for development and go-live with WhatsApp Flows using the On-Premises API is v2.51.1.

2. Create a Meta App

You'll also need a Meta App to use WhatsApp Flows in your messages. To get this set up, follow the steps in the article on Creating a Meta App.

3. Set up a Phone Number

Now that you have your account and Meta App set up, you'll need a phone number. This needs to be a dedicated business phone number as it will be used to send and receive WhatsApp messages and Flows to your customers.
