Beginning January 2024, developers with apps that have been published live with a use case or advanced access to any permission or feature will be required to complete data handling questions as part of their annual Data Use Checkup.
Protecting people’s privacy is a major priority for Meta and the developers who build on our platform. That’s why we require an annual checkup to make sure your API access and data use comply with our Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
The Data Use Checkup is an annual assessment that evaluates whether a developer’s continued use of and access to specific data via Meta APIs is in compliance with our Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies. It is required for developers whose apps have been published live with a use case, or have advanced access to permissions or features.

If an app has been published live with a use case, or has advanced access to permissions or features, an app admin will need to complete a Data Use Checkup for that app.
Data Use Checkup is not required for developers whose apps have Standard Access to permissions and features. In addition, developers do not need to complete DUC while the app is in Development mode, but will need to complete DUC before the app can be switched to Live mode.
