Permissions
As a general rule, the more permissions an app requests, the less likely it is that people will use Facebook to log into your app. In fact, our research shows that apps that ask for more than four permissions experience a significant drop off in the number of completed logins. There are three types of assessments you may need to complete around your app’s use of permissions for access to Facebook User Data:
- Asking for permissions (App Review)
- Certifying permissions used in accordance with Platform Terms (Data Use Checkup)
- Describing data protection and security practices for Advanced Permissions (Data Protection Assessment)

Data Security

We have a process to verify the identity of a business or individual who owns apps that interact with our APIs.This is different from the verification badge for notable accounts on our Family of Apps.
