Meta Joins the App Defense Alliance

This week, we announced that Meta is formally partnering with Google and Microsoft as the founding steering committee of the newly restructured App Defense Alliance. The Alliance aims to raise the overall security posture of app ecosystems by leveraging industry standards for app security. With a member community spanning 17 General and Contributor Members, the Alliance will support industry-wide adoption of app security best practices and guidelines, as well as countermeasures against emerging security risks.

This does not change how you engage with Meta today and does not reflect an immediate change to our existing data security programs. The creation of the App Defense Alliance is the first step in exploring industry best practices and guidelines for app security and aligns with our dedication towards safe data handling .
