Announcing Marketing API 2.8

October 5, 2016ByMelody Chu

Today, we're delighted to announce the next version of Marketing API version 2.8.

Feature Highlights

  • Introducing Instant Article as a position under Facebook platform. Instant Articles is now a separate ads placement in 2.8, so that advertisers can enable or disable showing ads in Instant Articles. If you use this placement you must select feed as a position and for device_platforms select mobile. For more details see Targeting Specs.

  • Making Facebook Offers easier to use. We've redesigned Offer Ads and native Offers to make it easier for people to claim offers on mobile and redeem those offers across devices (mobile, desktop) and in-store. Facebook will provide helpful reminders so that people don't miss out on an Offer they've claimed. For more details see Offer Ads API

How to Upgrade to Marketing APIs v2.8

We'd like to remind the developer community that v2.6 of the Marketing API has been deprecated and all apps need to be on at least v2.7. To see changes in v2.8, please see the Graph APIs v2.8 changelog. SDK developers should view our latest Java SDK, PHP SDK, or Python SDK for Marketing API. Web developers should specify /v2.8/ in your URLs when you call the API.
