Plan your integration

Implementing sharing to Reels can be generally broken down into 3 phases: planning, development and testing, and launch. Depending on your team’s resourcing and prioritization, you can implement sharing to Reels within weeks, or even days for simpler integration setups.

Planning

  • Set Goals: Defining your goal will help guide how to integrate sharing to Reels. Once your goal is defined, be sure to measure baseline levels before integrating to understand the impact of this integration.
  • Think through the user journey: Before you’re ready to build, take into consideration your sharing flows and how you can use the integration to save your users time and encourage sharing behavior.

Development and Testing

  • Development: Follow the instructions from our public documentation to implement sharing to Reels.
  • Testing: Plan for buffer time for debugging your technical implementation and overall design before a public release. This feature can also be released incrementally.
  • Depending on the complexity of the share flow (i.e. a button that will directly share to reels versus a button that opens a dialog for the user to select the asset to share, then share to reels), the implementation time will vary.

Launch

  • Once you’re done implementing, educate your users and increase visibility of the sharing feature through product marketing, social media, and other promotion strategies.

Thanks to technical support provided, implementing sharing to Reels was quick and effortless. Since including the feature in our app, we’ve seen greater engagement from users in APAC countries, especially India."
