This page has guidance on what you need to turn a seller into a managed partner that you run ads for with managed partner ads (MPA).
Businesses that sell their products through marketplaces or retailers are referred to as sellers. Once you onboard a seller into managed partner ads, they are considered a managed partner. The only difference between a seller and a managed partner is where the business is in the onboarding journey.
These are some terms you may see in the managed partner ads documentation.
Term | Description |
---|---|
Marketplace or Retailer | Platforms that bring consumers and sellers together exclusively online. They often stock and sell products from different brands. This is sometimes referred to as "parent" in our API documentation. |
Seller | Businesses that sell their products through marketplaces and/or retailers. This is sometimes referred to as "child" in our API documentation. |
Managed partner | An onboarded seller participating in a managed partner ads partnership with a marketplace or retailer. This is sometimes referred to as "child" in our API documentation. |
