Rich Experiences Facebook Pages

19 octobre 2016DeKrishna Kalpathy

Pages are the place where people go to discover and interact with their favorite brands and businesses from any device, anytime, anywhere. This is why we're making enhancements to Pages—now visited by more than one billion people every month—to make it even easier for people to discover businesses and take action wherever they are.

Today, we announced new ways for people to discover local events, get recommendations from friends and for businesses to offer a wide variety of experiences directly from their Page. For developers who are already working with small and medium businesses to help manage their appointment bookings and customer orders, we're in early stages of building tools for you to power these experiences on Pages. We're introducing two new features in limited beta:

Native components

Power a Facebook Page call-to-action button to allow people to schedule, order, buy, and do more seamlessly. Native components load instantly on most devices and deliver a full-screen experience that removes friction and allows customers to complete a form with just a few taps. For businesses, adding these experiences will be only a few clicks away.

Our beta partners are powering services for thousands of Page admins for the following actions:

  • Start Order - restaurant order processing with delivery.com or Slice.
  • Book Now - appointment booking with Booker, BookingBug, Front Desk, HomeAdvisor, Microsoft Bookings, MyTime, Pingup, Schedulicity, Setster and Simplybook.me.
  • Get Quote- request a quote for your service via Porch or TalkLocal.
  • Buy Tickets - selling event tickets with EventBrite and Ticketmaster.
  • See Showtimes- providing show schedules and selling movie tickets with Fandango.

Webviews

We're also offering developers the ability to power new Page CTA buttons using webviews on Facebook Pages. As a developer, you can bring your software service to businesses right into a Page, with full control of the look and feel. This gives people a full-screen experience that is customized to your brand, color and fonts.

Delivering the right experience at the right time, these new features help address the shortcomings of mobile apps and websites, reducing or removing barriers including discovery, signup, re-engagement, and high-friction payments. You'll be able to richly support simple signup experiences when booking an appointment, help customers find local businesses nearby and easily fill out forms when making an order in payments beyond what is available today.

Developers and organizations interested in building solutions with native components or webviews can sign up to find out more and apply for the limited beta.
