Online womenswear brand ChicMe offers shoppers an online platform for trendy clothing with attractive prices. Founded in 2015, the retailer strives to provide excellent customer service, and often integrates new features, such as Messenger, into its user experience.

THEIR GOAL

Simplifying communication permissions

ChicMe uses Facebook Login to offer shoppers a quick way to create an account as well as Messenger to provide customer support. Though these are both Meta products, the retailer could not use Messenger to message customers who used Facebook Login since the separate processes require separate permissions. The team hoped to send new customers an automated welcome message and promotional offer, and was looking for an effective way to solve the permissions challenge between Facebook Login and Messenger.

THEIR SOLUTION

Connecting Facebook Login and Messenger

The fashion retailer partnered with Meta Business Partner and automated conversation specialist Sanuker to integrate Login Connect with Messenger, a process that enables users to opt in to receiving communications from a business through Messenger from the Facebook Login flow. With this new feature, ChicMe could successfully contact new customers who registered with Facebook Login via Messenger immediately.

After a three-month integration period, the ChicMe team launched Login Connect with Messenger on its website during its Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaign in November 2021. To encourage more people to begin a conversation with the brand during the mega-sale weekend, ChicMe ran a campaign of ads that click to Messenger.

THEIR SUCCESS

Successfully welcoming new customers

Login Connect with Messenger solved ChicMe’s permissions challenge and enabled the brand to connect with new shoppers, re-engage them, and drive more purchases. Results from the November 2021 campaign included:

  • 71% of new users opted in to receiving communications via Messenger
  • 3X increase in welcome coupon redemption rate (compared to welcome coupons sent via app or website notifications)
  • 20% increase in online purchase conversion rate from new registered customers
  • 2X higher repurchase rate from Facebook Login users (compared to customer who log in using a different method)
