Instagram post shares: Attachment type transition

The transition period described on this page ended on February 1, 2026. New integrations must support the ig_post attachment type. See the current Webhook notification examples.

Starting November 3, 2025, the webhook payload for Instagram post shares included two attachments: the existing share attachment and a new ig_post attachment. The payload provided additional metadata, including media ID, URL, and title (caption).

The old share attachment type was supported for Instagram posts until February 1, 2026. This page is retained to help you investigate payloads created during the transition.
