Signals Gateway Pixel Helper

This guide shows you how to use the Signals Gateway Pixel Helper tool to verify your Signals Gateway Pixel is working properly, troubleshoot common errors, and improve Signals Gateway Pixel performance.
The Signals Gateway Pixel Helper is a Chrome Browser extension that runs in the background to automatically review websites for Signals Gateway Pixel code. When the extension is installed, a < / > icon, the SIgnals Gateway Pixel Helper icon, will appear in the upper right corner of the browser next to the address bar.
When a website has a Signals Gateway Pixel installed, the Signals Gateway Pixel Helper icon turns blue and a small badge will appear indicating the number of Pixels found on the webpage. If the icon does not turn blue, no Signals Gateway Pixels are installed on this webpage. Click the SIgnals Gateway Pixel Helper icon and a small popup appears with information you can use to verify, troubleshoot, and improve the Pixel.

Verify Pixel Implementation

Navigate to your website in the Chrome browser, and click on the Signals Gateway Pixel Helper icon. The popup will show Signals Gateway Pixels and Signals Gateway Pixel events that were found on the currently selected browser tab.
  • A green checkmark means that the event has fired successfully and is valid.
  • A yellow caution signs means the event can have one of the following issues:
    • An event has not been fired on the webpage.
    • An event was fired, but set up incorrectly and fired with an invalid payload.

Troubleshooting

The Signals Gateway Pixel Helper reports errors and suggestions to improve performance.

No Pixel Requests Fired

The No Pixel Requests Fired error means that the Signals Gateway Pixel Helper found what looks like Signals Gateway Pixel code on your site, but the actual HTTP call was never made. Possible causes include:
  • An error in the code.
  • If the Signals Gateway Pixel fires on a dynamic event, such as a button click. The error will disappear upon clicking on the button.

Pixel Activated Multiple Times

The Pixel Activated Multiple Times error means that a Signals Gateway Pixel with the same ID and event name was sent multiple times to Meta. The same event should only occur once upon page loading. If the event is sent with different custom data parameters, those parameters should be aggregated into a single Signals Gateway Pixel event.

Invalid Fields

The Invalid Fields error means that the Signals Gateway Pixel Helper found Signals Gateway Pixel fired with invalid payloads. The issue details and field requirements can be found in the warning messages.
