Conversions API Gateway and Signals Gateway: Set Up Custom Domain for AWS

Follow the steps below to set up a custom domain for your “Gateway Products” Conversions API Gateway or Signals Gateway.

After creating the Gateway Product, you will be led to the Domain management page, or you can launch the Domain Management page on the left sidebar under Settings.

Then you can choose between DNS provider AWS Certificate Manager (ACM) or Cloudflare.

If you anticipate less than 97 tenant domains to be set up on your Gateway Product, please choose ACM. Otherwise, you should choose Cloudflare. If you are unsure, please choose ACM. Once you choose ACM, enabling Cloudflare is not currently supported. Cloudflare support will be available in the future.

Domain Setup with ACM

If you choose AWS Certificate Manager (ACM) to set up a custom domain, a maximum of 96 tenant domains can be used with an instance.

  • Enter a custom domain for your Gateway Product, including a subdomain and root domain, and click Continue.
  • Next, confirm the domain you provided.
  • Next, create two DNS records leveraging the information on the Configure DNS page. You will need to navigate to your DNS provider to create the two records.
    • Steps for creating these records will vary depending on your DNS partner, so please refer to their documentation if you have any problems completing this step.
  • It may take a few minutes to validate your DNS. Once successfully validated, a green check mark will appear and the custom domain will now be reflected in the Current domain section

Domain Setup with Cloudflare

  • Choose a Cloudflare setup method. It’s recommended that you select the option to register a new domain and use it with Cloudflare. Click Get started under the option you’d like to select.

  • On the next page, you’ll find instructions for how to proceed on Cloudflare, depending on your selected setup method. Click the Launch Cloudflare button under the first step.
  • This will open a new tab for the Cloudflare setup process. Your place in the domain setup process within Gateway Products will remain open and you’ll be able to refer back to the instructions on that page as you proceed through the setup steps in Cloudflare.

  • Follow the instructions in the Gateway Products UI to set up Cloudflare.

Option 1: Register a new domain and use it with Cloudflare

Select this method if you need to set up a new Cloudflare account and a new domain for custom data routing.

Option 2: Use an existing Cloudflare account

Option 3: Use an existing domain

Use a domain from another provider with Cloudflare.

Select this method if you have a domain registered with another provider (such as Godaddy or AWS Route 53) and want to use it with Cloudflare.

The admin can now add host users to the Gateway Product instance or create advertiser accounts.
