Setup Application

The following are the steps required to set up the application for using the Two Tier APIs. These steps are provided here separately from the general steps in the developer documentation. This separation is due to the Two Tier setup requiring more specific instructions; however, it would be useful to reference the overall documentation after reading these instructions in order to better understand application development at Meta.

Follow below steps to set up your application to work with the Two Tier APIs.

  1. Register as an App Developer: Visit developer.facebook.com and register as an app developer.
  2. Create an App: Navigate to the Application Console in the top bar and click "Create App." Note that there is a limit of 15 apps per developer.
  3. Upload an App Icon: Provide a unique icon image for your app. The image must be between 512 x 512 and 1024 x 1024 pixels in JPEG, GIF, or PNG format, with a maximum file size of 5 MB.
  4. Data Protection Officer Contact: If conducting business in the European Union, provide contact information for a Data Protection Officer.
  5. Privacy Policy URL: Supply a URL to your app's Privacy Policy.
  6. Data Deletion Instructions: Provide a URL with instructions or a callback for users to delete their data from your app.
  7. Select Application Type: Choose "BUSINESS" as the application type.
  8. Fill in App Domain: In the Application Dashboard under Basic Settings, enter the App Domain.
  9. Link to Business Portfolio: Connect the app to the previously described Business Portfolio in the Application Dashboard.
  10. Request Tech Provider Status: Contact your Meta Representative to request becoming a Tech Provider.
  11. Install Marketing API: Select install for Marketing API in the App Dashboard products pagetas

Additional permissions may be needed based on your use case. Consult your Meta representative for guidance.
