Audience Network Policy Examples

Examples and explanations for Audience Network Policy 2.4

Policy Language

"Apps must ensure ads are clearly distinguishable from the rest of the content within the app."

The following serves as supplementary example material. To ensure your content is fully compliant, please consult the Audience Network Policy.

Examples and Explanations

Apps must not label ads in a deceptive manner (ex: “favorite downloads”, "recommended" or “today’s top offers”)..

Apps must not implement ad elements so they overlap or obscure content which users are trying to engage with, or cover up or hide any area of interest during typical interaction.

Ads must be clearly labeled with the expandable "AdChoices" icon on the native ad and clearly marked with "Sponsored", “Promoted" or “Ad" unless you have our prior written permission.

Ad labels must be clearly distinct from other site content and positioned in such as a way as to be attributable to the ad.

Apps must not place misleading images alongside ads which may infer a relationship between the content and the ads.

Apps must not draw unnatural attention to ads through deceptive means (ex: arrows pointing to ads or flashing ad borders).
