OpenGraph Preview Images Missing After CDN Change, Affecting 10+ Years of Shared Posts
2

Hello,

For over 10 years now, hundreds of thousands of users have shared our URL on Facebook.

Last year, without understanding why, Facebook recrawled all the preview images that were used at the time of each post.

Since we changed our CDN (for delivering the photos), ALL the preview images from posts on our Page and from user shares have disappeared.

This has drastically reduced our engagement and has shaken our company.

I searched everywhere but couldn’t find an option to refresh these previews with updated photos. Each URL does have a proper OpenGraph tag with a valid image.

Attached are examples of posts where you can clearly see, even in Meta Business Suite, that this issue is causing problems.

On each post, it now says, "The image in this post can't be boosted; there is an issue with the image from the link in this post."

However, the debugger shows everything is correct.

Thank you for the time you're taking on this matter, as this detail is destroying over 10 years of our life’s work.

Best regards,

Ben Moreton CEO, Playground
