Is there something wrong with graph api retrieval of leads?
95

We're using leadgen_id with URL https://graph.facebook.com/v20.0/{lead-id}/ and it's been working fine for our pages all along, but suddenly today we can't retrieve lead information even when we have access. This happens to all leads it seems. The last issue we had with FB leads are webhooks not being triggered. Now this seems to be a more serious one as we can't even use an alternative automation to get the lead info automatically as they're not being pulled from the API.

Same issue here. Getting the following error. Tried connecting with multiple accounts who have all permissions.

Unsupported get request. Object with ID 'XXXXXXXX' does not exist, cannot be loaded due to missing permissions, or does not support this operation. Please read the Graph API documentation at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api (100, GraphMethodException)

We are facing a similar issue since 8:30 am IST. Not able to retrieve lead metadata with the user access token. It was working fine earlier. There is no change in ads or user/page permissions.

For those struggling to source leads. Try the leads centre for the Facebook page in which the Leads Ads are being ran. I was able to find the leads not being sourced through the API that way and do some manual labour for a while. Not ideal but hopefully helps some people :)

Hello everyone,

We are once again experiencing issues with the leadgen API. This is the third time just this semester, and Meta takes WEEKS to resolve a critical problem. We urgently request the highest priority on this matter.

If you need any assistance or testing, the entire community is available to help.

If you go into the actual "leads center" you can see a list of the leads. You can export a list of the leads based on date rage, BUT it only includes like the phone or email, any custom questions aren't included. You'll have to go one by one through the leads to get that info :/

I’m experiencing the same issue, and the situation has become unsustainable. Together with my team, we’ve had to manually load the data, making cuts every hour to try and stay on top of things. This process is not only tedious but also comes with a high cost in terms of resources and time. The effort we’re putting into this repetitive task could be better spent addressing other priorities and tasks for the day, which is negatively affecting our productivity. Additionally, the uncertainty around when this issue will be resolved is causing us great frustration and making it difficult to plan our daily activities. I would appreciate a prompt solution or, at the very least, more clarity regarding the resolution timeline.

This is a catastrophic issue, where in the world is Facebook on this? The last time there was an issue with the webhooks, the leads were at least downloadable, in bulk, and could be imported into our CRM. Even if a lead is in leads center, I cannot provide Facebook access to each of our employees. I really hope Facebook is planning on distributing credits as this is dramatically impacting our business.

September 12 at 6:29 AM

We're facing a similar issue. We have a significant ad budget running for clients nationwide, but the leads are not coming through. We attempted to download the leads in a CSV from the page, and while the ads indicate there are leads, they are missing from the CSV as well. We're receiving pings from Facebook with an object ID for the leads, but the actual objects aren't there. A lot of ad spend is currently going to waste because of this.

September 12 at 7:55 AM
Jason
Billy

Same for us. I just noticed that a couple leads came through in the last few minutes, fingers crossed it's fixed. You can go to the leads center and download a xls of the leads BUT it doesn't contain any of the answers they selected. You have to go one by one and add it to the spreadsheet. It's been a nightmare morning to say the least.

September 12 at 8:47 AM
Billy

I think maybe I spoke too soon, there's a few more in leads center that didn't come through :/

Hi all, I am also one of many experiencing the same issue of not being able to retrieve leads through Zapier or manually through Ads Manager.

I just wanted to post a work around for those looking to find their leads manually which I found... Hopefully it can be of some assistance to people.

If you go to the FB page you are running the ads from and go to "Leads Center", the leads should still be populating in there. Obviously not ideal but at least you may be able to see these manually and populate your relevant databases while Facebook sorts the issue.

Hopefully it's soon.

Cheers Mark

Hi Mark, thanks for the tip, it seems to work like this. But it seems like you can only download leads in CSV format, where there is a lot of data missing, such as Lead Id, form id etc. This method seems to only get the data that the user has put in.

Do you know of a way to download all the data? It's pretty important in terms of being able to mass-import the leads.

Thanks!

September 12 at 4:27 AM
Mark

Hi Thomas, sadly haven't found a way to find the Lead ID as of yet.

However, if you are looking for the form ID, you can find this in the Lead Centre. When you click on any lead it should open a tab on the right hand side of your screen. If you scroll down to the "Form Answers" section you should see the Lead From ID in the text below the title.

Hope this helps slightly!

I think Meta Business is trying to push users towards their new "Lead Center"

As a result, when new lead inbound it stopped going to the old "Instant Form" but were sent directly to "Lead Center"

I hope Meta would have properly tested all this before making the roll out...

Hello Matias, I must say I'm glad that Zapier is focusing on this issue. We have contacted the support team, but they didn't give us an estimated timeframe. If it's okay to ask, what did they tell you? Did they provide any estimated time for a solution?

Yes. I have been debugging also, my token seems good and it happened today only Sept 12 2024. I checked all my leads from yesterday and I don't see anything missing. I was thinking I was using an old graph version, but no. That's not the issue, since i tested it with version 20 and the same problem.
