reject app review

My app review submission on Facebook was rejected with the following reason: Since I cannot create a Facebook test account, I don't know which test account Facebook used to evaluate the app during the review process.

Hello Team,

We have determined that the submitted use case and screencast for the requested permission are valid. However, we were unable to verify the permissions because using our test credential unable to retrieve the page list.

For the next submission, please provide us Facebook credential so that we able to verify the permissions.

Please re-submit accordingly and we will re-review your application. Thank you!

Hello team!

While reviewing this submission, we were unable to verify the publish_video permission because the use case and screencast don’t showcase the functionality of publishing live videos to an app user's timeline, group, event, or Page.

We noticed that your use case details did not clearly explain or give guidance on how the permission was being used.

The allowed usage for this permission is to live-video stream to an app user's timeline, group, event or Page.

Hello GoTech, I recently went through the same situation. When I contacted support, they gave me some instructions and after following them, my app was successfully verified.

In fact, the test user creation feature is disabled and will probably be removed, so you will need to create a real Facebook profile and assign it the Tester role. Use this account exclusively for this purpose, DO NOT use your personal account.

When you submit your app for review again, a new problem may be that the reviewer informs you that they received an error about an incorrect password. This occurs when the app reviewer tries to access your account from another country or continent. To get around this, follow the instructions from the support team below:

Thank you for contacting Facebook Direct Support.

To resolve the issue, we recommend providing a solution to passphrase through the provided Facebook account (such as recovery codes). This will enable the review team to replicate the test instructions accurately and verify the functionality of the requested permissions during the app review process.

We request that you follow the step-by-step test instructions to receive the recovery codes for a Facebook account:

  1. Open the Facebook account. Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Select 'Settings & privacy', then click Settings.
  3. Go to Accounts Centre and select 'Password and security'.
  4. Under 'Password and security', click 'Two-factor authentication.
  5. Select your Facebook test account (enter the password, if prompted).
  6. You can choose any of the options provided (preferably 'Text message' as it is more convenient).

If you select 'Text message'

  1. Select the phone number connected to the Facebook account. Enter the confirmation code.

Two factor authentication will be turned on.

  1. Re-open Facebook.
  2. Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.
  3. Select 'Settings & privacy', then click Settings.
  4. Go to Accounts Centre and select 'Password and security'.
  5. Under 'Password and security', click 'Two-factor authentication.
  6. Select your Facebook test account (enter the password, if prompted).
  7. Go to 'Additional methods'.
  8. Click 'Recovery codes', turn it on.
  9. You will receive the recovery codes, which you can provide in your next submission details for the review team to access and login to your Facebook test account.

Please note that these recovery codes can only be used once . If they have already been used, the review team will not be able to use them again to log in to the provided Facebook account.

Please be informed that if the review team is unable to access the provided Facebook test account, they will review your application using their own test credentials and take a decision according to their review experience.

Therefore, we recommend making the necessary changes and resubmitting the application for the review team to assess accordingly.
