It happens sometimes. It could be due to you are on newly logged in device. I'd suggest give it few hours and use facebook on this new device for a day before trying again.

Facebook error message are mostly generic and issue can be completely unrelated to problem.

Also, make sure you have 2FA enabled for safe side.
