Connect Business Manager to Application - Nil Permissions

  • I am logging into our application using Business_manager (standard access).
  • This works for some profiles (mine and my staff)
  • I have provided screenshots comparing my login and accesses and then my client's login and accesses

PROBLEM: My clients/users are not able to connect their Facebook page or Instagram profile because they are not able to connect their business manager accounts (they are either users with partial control or full control to the business manager, it doesn't matter what level access they have, they are not able to connect).

I have requested 'advanced' permissions to business_manager for my app in the hope that this might solve the problem however Meta App review testers are not able to 're-create' the problem my users are facing. I suspect this is because they have 'developer' access however surely they would think of this.

I have provided a screencast when applying for this feature from my login (I can connect and everything works well), I have also provided a screencast from a client perspective (they can't connect). This is where I see the problem is:

  1. Business Manager Account:

    • Client: Has full control in business manager, Facebook page and Instagram profile
    • I have exactly the same accesses as my client
  2. Personal Account Business Integrations for App:

    • Client only has the option to provide permissions to Facebook pages and Instagram profiles
    • I can see the option to connect to my businesses (business manager profiles) and Facebook pages and Instagram profiles
  3. Application login and ‘connect to Facebook’

    • Client is given the option to connect to their Facebook page and Instagram profile to the application, no option to connect to any business manager profiles therefore the pages and Instagram held within that business manager account can't connect.
    • I am given the option to connect to my business manager account, then the Facebook pages and Instagram profiles held within my business manager accounts.
  4. I have provided a screenshot of error message the client receives after connecting the Facebook page and Instagram profile (but unable to connect the business manager account as it isn't provided as an option).

QUESTIONS:

Why am I able to connect business manager and my clients are not, we have exactly the same accesses.

Why can’t testers recreate the problem or at least see that this is a problem that all of my users are facing and accept there is an issue that needs to be resolved and perhaps provide some insight/advice on that instead of just saying ‘we can’t recreate the issue’?

What are my next steps to getting this resolved?
