Hi everyone,
I'd like to share my frustrating experience with Facebook app reviews. I've developed several iOS and Android apps that use Facebook login. The apps are very similar and I use the same privacy policy for all of them.
Unfortunately, I often get app reviews from Facebook's review team. The most common issues are:
- Incomplete privacy policy (Platform Terms 4.b): The policy is the same for all apps, but sometimes it's accepted and other times it's not. I often try to explain the content of the policy (in English) to the reviewer (in Italian), but it's not always easy.
- App access (Developer Policy 6.1): In some cases, providing login credentials is enough to resolve the issue. However, if the Facebook app has been disabled, the reviewer can't test it and asks me to create a test account. Unfortunately, the test account creation feature is temporarily disabled, creating a real deadlock. I've reported the issue to the reviewer, but they said there's nothing they can do and I need to contact support. I've tried opening a bug report, but that feature is also disabled.
In an even more absurd case, I was asked to make a video of the app in action. I made the video, but then I was asked to show how the app works with Facebook. Of course, I can't do that because the app has been disabled!
This situation is causing a lot of problems for my clients, who are getting upset.
What can I do to resolve these issues? Is there anyone who has had similar experiences and can give me some advice?
