My question is about using a physical (Android) phone with sim card\local number, running the WhatsApp Business app, for a WhatsApp Business account.
We have completed the creation and verification of a WhatsApp Business account using WhatsApp Manager (business.facebook.com website) and created an app (using developers.facebook.com) and added the cell number to the account. The status is showing as Connected and the quality rating is High. Display name has been approved.
Can (or should) we have a physical phone\sim card, running the WhatsApp Business app on a phone? All attempts to "verify your phone number" on the phone are failing.
I found this post (https://developers.facebook.com/community/threads/814841440305228/) that states that the WhatsApp Business Mobile App and WhatsApp Business Platform API cannot be used together. This answers my question but the documentation really did not explain this concept (or I completely missed it).
