Sharing Debugger Response Code: 418 I'm a teapot for my website
6

Hello everyone! I am writing in the hope that someone can help me. I have been struggling with this problem for more than a month. I can't get my website to preview in facebook debugger because I get Curl Timeout Response Code 418, this in the conditions that I have First Contentful Paint 2.0 s, Largest Contentful Paint 2.0 s, Total Blocking Time 0 ms , Cumulative Layout Shift 0, Speed Index 2,0 s. I am using Rank Math SEO. All open graph tags are there but i still get 418. I tried to deactivate each plugin separately to see if one of them is to blame. I really don't know what could be the cause. I'm missing something. Can`t be the host. I have another wordpress site on the same host and works just fine. What do you think? Thanks in advance! https://www.gtaronews.ro/

Did you find a solution to this? I'm having a similar problem with the 418 code.

Same issue for me! I wrote up more details in another thread here: https://developers.facebook.com/community/threads/765686558643258/?post_id=765686565309924

Has anyone had any success or figured out the cause of this error?

I am having same error.

If I disable a few plugins, the error disappears, ADvanced Ads, and Allinone SEO.

Am running multisite and on cloudways using Cloudflare with 8GB ram for environment.

This is new, it always worked in past. The only new thing is I moved to Multisite

I am having similar problems with various pages on my site. If I point to an http URL instead of https then it appears to go through, but that's not ideal.

I have a solution, which worked in my case. While my SSL certificate was working, it was missing the CA-Bundle file.

In your http config file, under , make sure you include the following (with your details):

SSLCertificateChainFile /path/to/ssl/your-domain.ca-bundle

Once I added the CA Bundle, it started to work.

No, I simply gave up and post with an image, not with an OpenGraph preview. The conclusion is that Meta simply has very high, even absurd I would say, expectations from sites. Just as an idea, on Twitter the preview works perfectly, so the meta is asking too much.

Classic meta/facebook issue.

I'm just opening 2 windows with autoclick. One is resubmitting the same url over and over (we're getting countdowns before they suspend our account, because our privacy Policy url is "down"), the other is refetching the URL in sharing debugger.

Sometimes it works after seconds, other times minutes, sometimes not after several minutes.

It's really hopeless.
