Getting Unknown Image Error for png image in og image. Earlier this was not an issue and the same image was working perfectly. Today suddenly all images started getting this error.

Same problem in Denmark, but only with pages with that uses YouTube Thumbnails. Therefor I testet with a random video from YouTube via Facebook scraper tool, and found that og image worked fine yesterday, but when re-scraped now og:image fails.

It seems to be solved. Not retroactively, but all today's publications have the image.

Are you using litespeed cache plugin? If so, try disable guest optimization and purge all. Check whether the image came out in share debugger. Mine work fine

I am getting the same - if a web page has og:image defined then the Facebook Debugging tool is reporting:

Provided og:image URL, xxxxx encountered an unknown error.

I have tried this for multiple pages all with publicly accessible images defined in og:image and each with the recommended dimensions.

It doesn't work here (Germany) either. How long does it usually take for Facebook to solve a problem like this?

For anyone having this same issue, we just solved it (not the best way, but is a temp fix until meta solve this bug), the scrapper will retrieve the first image inside the

tag (or at least is what we think), so we just put the url used in the og:image meta tag in the and voila, the scrapper loads the image (still shows the error btw). Example: ....

I repeat, is not the best way to solve this problem, because the browser will load an extra image on dom load, but at least fix this issue temporarily. Hope this help.

When I try to share an article, of any website, the image doesn't appear.

However, in debugging mode, the link to the image is clearly indicated on the og:image tag.

But the image doesn't appears once article shared !
