Hello, fellow Meta Developers!
We are developing an app that leverages Meta's applications to automate replies in Instagram Direct Messages using user-defined triggers. A key feature we're interested in is the ability to send preset texts in response to live comments on Instagram through the "Private Replies" feature. However, as it stands, this feature is only operational during live events.
Instances like the Private Replies API outage on March 14, 2024, have significantly impacted our ability to reply in real-time. Moreover, our inability to execute planned responses after broadcasts concludes negatively affects user satisfaction.
We are proposing a reconsideration of the time restrictions on the Private Replies API to allow for post-broadcast replies within a limited timeframe. Additionally, we suggest enabling access to broadcast and comment data via the Instagram Graph API after an event has concluded.
What are your thoughts on these proposals? We are particularly keen on hearing your views on revising API usage limitations and improving access to data post-event. If you have viable solutions or suggestions, please do share them with us. Also, if you know of any best practices for tackling such issues, we would love to hear about them.
We look forward to your valuable opinions and feedback. Let's work together to build a better service.
Thank you!
