About the basic API of Instagram

I use Instagram's basic API to get my Instagram account information, but I heard that the API will be discontinued on December 4. It didn't mention that the new API will be able to retrieve user profile information. If it is discontinued, will the new API no longer be able to retrieve Instagram account information? Please tell me.
