GA4 naming of Submit Application event
1

We connected both the FB pixel and the FB conversion API. I'm trying to get the Integration to multiple for our most important conversions. Now I'm looking how I can map the Meta Standard event: 'Submit Application'. How should I name the GA4 event so FB correctly maps it?

I looked into this documentation, but the mapping table does not include the Submit application event: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/conversions-api/guides/gtm-server-side/

I also tried to name it just like the FB standard event in GA4. However, as you can see on the screenshot attached, it is registered as two separate events.

There are two option in Meta Pixel Creation, First one is "Standard Event" and the second one is "Custom Event". You can use both, If you use Meta Standard event it would be better option to go through "Lead" event and GA's "generate_lead"

When mapping your GA4 event to the Meta Standard event 'Submit Application,' you should name the GA4 event something like submit_application or form_submission. However, it's important that the naming is consistent across both platforms to ensure proper tracking.

You can set up custom mapping in your Conversion API or use Meta’s Event Matching Tool to ensure the event is matched correctly.

If you’d like, I can walk you through the process of configuring the mapping in both GA4 and Facebook or help ensure all key conversions are tracking smoothly. Let me know how you'd like to proceed!
