SITUATION: The links from the site, associated with the Facebook official page, do not correctly display the preview that would normally be automatically generated using Meta tools. Developer Tools’ URL linter identifies an error when retrieving the HTTP link. We want to restore the functionality of link previews.
CONDITIONS RELATED TO THE OCCURRENCE OF THE BUG:
- The error detected by the URL LINTER on EVERY url/content of the site is: "URL returned a bad HTTP response code."
- The URL LINTER scraper returns the error: "The document returned no data."
The website gazzettadalba.it is protected by an active and valid certificate; there is an HTTP -> HTTPS redirection present in the configurations.
- Website was migrated to a new server in the first week of July; the issues began following this migration.
- After the server migration and the first sharing problems, the page, which had already been previously verified, underwent a new verification process by updating the data and configuring the server accordingly (this intervention did not resolve the bug).
- The bug occurs both with direct shares and when scheduling via Meta’s editorial calendar; it makes no difference.
- The bug happens on the official Fanpage and on every different personal business account tested.
- The bug occurs in any browser mode used in testing (incognito mode, Firefox, Chrome).
Previous contacts with support concerned the "verified" status and "news page" status of gazzettadalba, without resulting in any findings or solutions.
Our development team has not identified any configurations causing the error with the URL not being interpreted.
