Platform Updates: Operation Developer Love

October 17, 2012ByLeslie Lei

Since last Wednesday's update, we announced Drive Installs and Discovery with Mobile App Install Ads, and published World HACK Recap and Winners.

Screenshot Importer

You can now import your app's screenshots from Apple App Store and Google Play to feature on Facebook App Center. You will see a new link next to Screenshots in the App Details section that enables the import flow. In order to use this feature, you need to associate your App Store ID (iOS) or Package Name (Android) under settings and set the platform you want listed in App Center.

Improved test user interface

The updated Test User interface under the Roles section in App Dashboard provides a simple interface to provision and manage test users, who can help test your web and mobile app integrations before launch.

January breaking changes

The following change will go into effect on January 9th, 2013. Please note that January 9th is the second Wednesday of the month, not the first Wednesday of the month as is normally the case per our Breaking Change Policy. This is due to the fact that January 2nd is a company holiday so our standard Tuesday push will be delayed.

  • Removing unused splash_screen_url and gamebar_image_url properties

  • Removing Dashboard REST API methods

  • Using canonical URLs when fetching data using link_stat table

Check out the Developer Roadmap for all updates on breaking changes.
