New Promotion Policies
Based on feedback from the community, we have modified our policies to let businesses run promotions on Facebook without seeking our approval or permission. We’re excited about the new opportunities that this creates for brands and developers building on Facebook Platform. Learn more.
Facepile Improvements
The Facepile plugin now supports the ability to show friends that have liked Facebook Pages and Open Graph pages. In addition, we now offer both XFBML and iFrame versions of the Facepile plugin.
End of Year Deprecations, Page Tab Update
In August, we announced that we are deprecating some infrequently used APIs and FBML tags at the end of the year. We encourage developers to make the necessary code changes soon, because these may be breaking changes.
We will continue letting developers create new FBML Page tab applications until Q1 2011, because we are still working on the iFrame implementation. We are also postponing the deprecation of fb:board until we offer the ability to export data.
New Graph API Features
We recently introduced support for friendlist and “likes” on comments in the Graph API. Applications can access and manage friendlists using the Graph API and the respective permissions (read_friendlists and manage_friendlists). Similarly, developers can now use the Graph API to build applications that read, write (with stream-publish permission) and delete “likes” on comments.
