A roundup of latest updates

December 7, 2015ByYasser Shohoud

One of the things we do at Facebook is to figure out ways to make impact at scale. In addition to working with our clients and partners in one-on-one engagements we have been doing some physical and virtual events and other things to inspire, educate and help marketing developers at scale. In case you missed it, here are some of the things we've recently released:

DPA Troubleshooting Dashboard: designed to help clients easily find and resolve problems with their DPA set up. We encourage you to use it as you set up DPA and check it occasionally after set up just to make sure things didn't break. You can check out the new functionality by going to any Product Catalog overview page in Business Manager. Here are a couple ways that you and your clients can actually use this new surface:

  • On the Catalog overview tab, you’ll see a list of all the things that are wrong with the pixels, product feeds, and product sets that are associated with the Catalog. Clicking any of these indicators will take you to where you can take action or get more data.
  • On the Product Events tab, you can see how pixel/app event fires are trending, and how many products from the event source have been matched to products in the catalog. And you can drill down to see which product URLs were matched vs. unmatched.

DPA Implementation Tutorial Videos: A few weeks ago we delivered a DPA Implementation webcast in English and Chinese. We're now posting the recorded videos on the Facebook Marketing Developers page. Please share it with your clients and watch that space for the rest of the videos.

Partner Summit: A couple weeks ago we hosted the Partners Summit in San Francisco. The track included technical sessions ranging from ads delivery to targeting to optimization. We wrote a summary of the talks in a small book that we printed and gave to the audience. You can download a copy here.

Marketing API Accelerator: We launched the Marketing API Accelerator to help developers new to the API learn it, build working solutions and grow their business on it. Developers accepted to the Build track will get special attention from Facebook to help them build and launch a solution that impacts their business and ours.

Upcoming Virtual Hack: We're planning a virtual hack from December 6th to 11th to help developers learn the Marketing API. We will have tutorials in English and Chinese and will have members of the Solutions Engineering team answering questions online in Chinese, Portuguese, and English. We will pick a winner from each region who will get ongoing Facebook attention and help to complete and ship their solution prototype. Your questions and feedback are always welcome.
